About UsClick here to see our coming events we support. C. Botkin Enterprises Ltd was recently formed after our partners realized how unavailable quality incubation equipment was to Canadians. The initiative was started in part by Clayton Botkin. Clayton brings to the company over 15 years of experience raising and producing birds. Clayton has been involved in a number of organizations for many years, on both a local and national level. He is currently president of the Fraser Valley Poultry Fanciers Association (FVPFA). Clayton has been president of the FVPFA since 2007, and served on its board of directors since 1998, initially as a junior director, then director and now president. As president of the FVPFA, Clayton is involved with many of their community outreach programs and sits on all of the association's committees. Clayton is currently finishing his bachelor's degree in Applied Animal Biology at the University of British Columbia's Vancouver campus. He is also the manager and founder of our Avian Research Center, and continuing his volunteer duties. C. Botkin Enterprises is active in the community, by supporting organizations like the FVPFA, along with others such as the Prairie Ornamental Pheasant & Waterfowl Association, the American Poultry Association and the American Bantam Association. We are very interested in supporting other local organizations typically affiliated with small-scale and hobby bird-keepers. We are also interested in supporting 4-H clubs where they exist within the province of British Columbia, where youth in agriculture are few and far between. We would like to encourage the leaders of these groups to contact us to discuss support opportunities. How it all started...By Clayton Botkin As a child, I had an intrinsic love for birds. My parents kept chickens at our home in Ladner, which came with us out to our current residence in the country. At about age 12 I purchased my first exhibition poultry from a very reputable breeder in Surrey, B.C. At the time, I purchased Light Brahma and Booted Mille Fleur bantams. I kept these birds for many years, until I began phasing out in chickens to concentrate on production of exotic waterfowl and pheasants during my college years. The collection of birds grew with the help of many close friends and my family to include numerous species of birds, including cranes, ducks, geese, partridge, quail, turacos, and chickens. Under the guidance of well-known aviculturists Bill and Edna Goldstone, I was able to set up the current Avian Research Center at C. Botkin Enterprises. After so many years of keeping birds, and constantly learning, I was encouraged to broaden our scope and to diversify my experience and find new opportunities. This proved a valuable decision, and led to the formation of our relationship with Brinsea, the incubation specialists. Brinsea products have long been recognized as the optimal products for incubation, and having grown up, they were rarely available for purchase in Canada. With this in mind, I contacted Brinsea and we formed an agreement to be the exclusive Canadian distributor for their quality products. It is a very exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of the Canadian poultry industry, and allowing our customers to purchase such quality equipment at affordable prices, and I hope to be able to revolutionize incubation in Canada to this modern, intelligent, computer-driven equipment. Please do not hesitate to contact us with your questions, comments or concerns about Brinsea products, birds, or an item you may be looking for or distribution of. Contact ClaytonOrganizationsC.
